Tradition

We are an established Czech law firm since 1993.

The founding partner of Bedrna & Partners was Jiří Bedrna, an acknowledged professional, who – before joining the Bar – held various high offices in the judiciary. Mr. Bedrna served as the president of the District Court for Prague 6, president of the Municipal Court in Prague and, finally, the chief civil justice of the Supreme Court of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic. Mr. Bedrna was active also as a civil-law teacher at the Faculty of Law of the Charles University in Prague and authored numerous specialized publications on housing law and civil procedure.

Building on Mr. Bedrna's experience, we take advantage from close knowledge of judicial environment. We have represented clients in numerous landmark court disputes. Whereas in our early years we dealt especially with claims resulting from property restitution legislation (compensation of wrongs caused by the communist regime), later on our focus moved to commercial, real estate and intellectual property litigation and legal consultancy in general.

We provide assistance in the entire scope of civil law, with accent on real estate law, contract law, commercial and corporate law, as well as intellectual property and labor law. Our clients are some of the leading businesses in the real estate development, chemical industry, automotive industry and information technologies. They are active in the Czech Republic as well as internationally. Our services are open also to individuals, especially as concerns real estate and litigation matters.

Philosophy

Client’s interest is our primary yardstick. We accentuate individual attitude to problems and continuous efficiency valuation of legal steps in relation to the result our client desires. Our rationale is to mitigate risks to which our client is exposed. We prefer preventing legal disputes by useful advice and contractual arrangement. But we are not afraid of daring solutions, either. Pushing through clients’ rights constitutes one of our domains – we have deep experience in conducting litigation and contentious matters.

Knowledge is attorney’s tool. This holds true especially nowadays, when law is subject to dynamic development. We pay considerable attention to improving expertise of our lawyers. Through specialization and team work we achieve proficiency of our services.

For client’s convenience we cooperate with attorneys who practice in fields of law which are not part of our specialization, in particular as concerns criminal law. We are also assisted by other experts whose counsel or deed may be of importance, such as notaries, tax advisors or court appraisers.
